3 Amazing Arts and Crafts Projects You Can Make from Shredded Paper

1. Paper Mache Bowls

You can use the shredded paper for making paper mache bowls that can be placed on the coffee tables as centerpieces. To make the paper mache bowls, you will have to soak the shredded paper in water for a day or two. Once it’s completely soaked and feels pulpy, you can take it out of the water and blend it to turn it into a thick paste. Mix some white glue into this paste and keep it aside for later.

Now take a balloon and blow it. Use the round base of the balloon and start to apply paper mache on it. When the rounded bases of the balloon have been completely covered with paper mache, leave it aside for drying. It may take a day or two for the paper mache to become completely dry. When the paper mache starts to feel crusty, take a needle and pop the balloon. You should have a paper mache base that looks like a bowl. You can decorate this bowl with paint, glitter, or flowers to turn it into a creative centerpiece for your coffee table.

2. Gift Wraps

You can use the colored shredded papers to make gift wraps by criss-crossing the shredded strips and using them to wrap the gift boxes. To create shredded paper gift wraps, you will need shredded strips that are a little thicker in width and have vibrant colors like red, blue, green, yellow, pink, and purple. Place half of the strips vertically and the other half horizontally.

Now criss-cross them so that the strips go over and under one another and look like checkered paper. You can seal one side of the checkered paper by applying a thin layer of transparent white glue all over it. Keep it aside for a few hours and let the glue dry.
